Hunslet Old Boys 28-6 Wibsey Warriors

Hunslet Old Boys fought off a spirited challenge from Wibsey Warriors to set up a Yorkshire Cup final meeting with the holders Sharlston Rovers, at The Chris Moyles Stadium Featherstone on Sunday 27th December. First half tries from Danny Lawton and Pat Banks helped Hunslet to a 12-0 half time lead against the Bradford side, with conversions coming from Carl Briggs and Lawton. Melvyn Brown increased the Old Boys’ lead after the interval with a four pointer followed by a Lawton penalty and a try from Ricky Hazelwood bfore Warriors eventually got on the board through a Mark Darragh try supplemented by Andrew Robinsons conversion. But Hunslet made sure of their Christmas date with the holders with Danny O’Connor crossing and Lawton adding the extras.
